Trust & safety
The part that carries risk.
Booking someone into your procedure room isn't like hiring a contractor. We built Synapses around that — and we're precise about what we do and don't do.
Everyone here is a confirmed person
Every account verifies both an email address and a phone number before it can book anything or be booked. Accounts that haven't finished verification can't post, apply, book, or receive bookings.
You can turn on a one-time code at sign-in for a second layer, and mark the devices you use regularly as trusted so you're not entering a code every day. You can see every trusted device on your account and revoke any of them — or all of them — at once.
Credentials, with the dates attached
Providers upload their licenses, state permits, certifications, and insurance documents. Each one carries its expiry date and sits on their profile where you can see it.
Synapses alerts the provider before anything lapses. You can see the dates yourself, any time, before the case.
Reviews that go both ways
After a case, both sides can review each other. Practices rate providers. Providers rate practices.
Reviews only unlock after the booking date has passed. Nobody can review themselves. Ratings and review counts sit on every profile, and you can leave a review anonymously if you'd rather.
Reliability on the record
Every profile carries a completed and cancelled count. When a booking is cancelled, the platform records who cancelled it and when.
There's no quiet way to leave someone without coverage.
A record of everything
Bookings, status changes, reschedules, cancellations, and document access are all logged — with the actor, the time, and what changed. Booking history is kept per booking.
Reporting and moderation
Report a posting or a user with a reason, and it goes to a moderation queue for review. Accounts can be suspended and content removed. Practices and organizations can block users they don't want to work with again.
Your data
- Files are stored encrypted, and shared through time-limited links rather than public URLs.
- Messages and data are encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Sensitive account fields are encrypted in the database.
- Attachments and message rooms follow retention rules and are cleaned up automatically.
- Payments run through Stripe — Synapses never stores your full card details.
Questions about any of this?
If your compliance lead wants to talk it through, we'd rather have that conversation early.
